Course Description
Intensive development of oral and literacy skills at the Intermediate High to Advanced Low level, with emphasis on improving grammatical accuracy, fluency, and cultural competence. Intended to prepare students for Span 321 and subsequent courses.

Spanish 205 or placement by test.
Note
Course fulfills GE Languages of Learning requirement. Students enrolled in the course may also be eligible to take the Spanish Challenge Exam for 12 credits (see Dept. of Spanish and Portuguese website for more information).

Demonstrate proficiency in Spanish at the Intermediate High to Advanced Low level, as defined by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Proficiency Guidelines for speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Analyze and interpret a selection of oral and written texts from Spanish-speaking countries, including short stories and journalistic articles, within their historical and cultural context.
